This fine piece of animation is our latest 2012 show reel, showing all the fancy creative things we’ve been grafting on for the last 24 months!

The show reel was created to refresh our old 2010 show reel.

The original was created for an awards presentation we were required to give prior to winning the Creative Leicestershire Start-Up award 2010. We decided that, since we deal with the visual, that a visual piece was the best way to communicate what we do. Since it’s creation we’ve rocked this bad boy out on websites. trade shows and events.

This month 19 Grams say a fond farewell to our home for the past 2 years, the LCB Depot. We’re changing our business structure slightly and will now be cherry picking our projects and operating on a less 9-5 basis. Nevertheless, we’ve loved the last 2 years in LCB and hope to be seeing the fine fellows we’ve met there just as often!

It’s finally here! On Saturday, New Walk Museum, Leicester opened up their newly refurbished Wildspace gallery complete with the snazzy 19 Grams displays we’ve been working so hard on. Why not go check it out?

New Walk Museum drastically needed to refresh their outdated interactive displays in the ‘Wildspace’ exhibit. Taking on the task we set about using modern web technologies to power our solution which, as well as being beautiful, is also future proof and fully automated. That means that staff can rest easy as the machines start up in the mornings and shut down at night with no input needed.

WOLDA award for logo design

We’ve only gone and won an award for our 19 Grams logo.

In 2010 we entered our logo along with a few select client logos to The Worldwide Logo Design Annual (a bit of a mouthful I know). We were selected from 1000s of logos and are one of the 12 winners from the UK.

We’re pleased about the award but I can’t help but think that the WOLDA annual book is a little bit too pricey. Or is it that I’m a tight northerner?

We have an idea to create a collective of young, non-competing professional creatives. The aim is to regularly host events and work together to target larger organisations and make the painful task of gaining regular jobs and reaching a higher bracket of client slightly easier. We aim to build a content managed website which all members will have an area on and will regularly host events and talks in your area of expertise in which we will try and engage more blue-chip businesses.

At the moment we are gauging interest from anyone who would like to get involved. The basic criteria for participants is:

Young (19 Grams are a young team of 22/23 year olds) - We are the future. It’s time for the young guns to come through.
Creative business - You need to be within the creative industry, which of course is the greatest industry ever!!
Looking to grow your business and increase your client size and number - Let’s face it, who doesn’t want to do that?

We are looking for non-competing businesses, which means we can’t have a thousand graphic designers joining, as we’d be fighting for referrals and work.

We are currently applying for funding to get this collective off the ground. So if you have a minute then we’d love for you to vote for us on the Enterprise Nation website. If we get 500 votes then we can get funding to put our plan into action.

When the opportunity came to create the online home for our actual studio home we jumped for joy! The Leicester Creative Business (LCB) Depot is a fantastic building, both in terms of architecture and community spirit and has housed 19 Grams since our inception in 2010! We knuckled down and, with the help of Ultimateweb we won the competetive pitch over a variety of national design studios. The site has brought the creative business communities in both the LCB Depot and Phoenix Square together and opened up a content managed platform to LCB staff and tenants. Thanks to a fantastic project team the site looks beautiful, functions fantastically and really captures the ‘buzz’ of the creative community here at the LCB.
